Il Restauro was established by Rosaria Trivellini who was born in Italy and has lived in England for many years. She is an accomplished and appraised conservator/restorer hailing from a family tradition passed through generations. From a very young age Rosaria was trained by skilled master craftsmen at some of the oldest and well established restoration workshops in the central east Marche region of Italy.
Rosaria brings a wealth of experience from traditional apprenticeship and manual dexterity coupled with her extensive knowledge of the History of Art.
For over 10 years Rosaria has worked at several studios in London and is now based in South London maintaining a selected and prestigious clientele of private costumers, renowned auction houses and art galleries.
Rosaria has undertaken several Chemistry for Conservtors courses,one of which was with leading scientist conservator Richard Wolbers; a pioneer in new acqueos and non acqueous methods of cleaning decorative surfaces. Rosaria is also pursuing a Master of Arts in Conservation at Sir John Cass department of Art and Design at London Metropolitan University (formerly known as Guildhall University)
The focus of this postgraduate study is on the environmental technical control, examination and analysis, preventitive and principles of collection care as well as the study of museum and material culture.
